St Ouen's Pond

Located on the west of the Island , in St Ouen’s Bay, the pond and its surrounding reedbed has an enviable list of birds to its name. Marsh Harrier, Bearded Tit, Cetti’s, Reed and Sedge Warblers, alongside Lapwings, Shovelers and occasionally Common Pochard are among the breeding birds. Great Bitterns winter in small numbers as well as several species of duck.

A regular wintering flock of Brent Geese will sometimes be joined by other species such as Bean and Whitefronted geese.

Getting There

Located on La Grande Route des Mielles ( Five Mile Road) in the centre of St Ouen’s Bay, park in the car park at “Discovery Bay” apartments and cross the road to the mound opposite where a public hide, owned by the National Trust for Jersey, is to be found.
