Located on the west of the Island , in St Ouen’s Bay, the pond and its surrounding reedbed has an enviable list of birds to its name. Marsh Harrier, Bearded Tit, Cetti’s, Reed and Sedge Warblers, alongside Lapwings, Shovelers and occasionally Common Pochard are among the breeding birds. Great Bitterns winter in small numbers as well as several species of duck.
A regular wintering flock of Brent Geese will sometimes be joined by other species such as Bean and Whitefronted geese.
