Sorel

Sorel Point is a headland in the centre of the north coast, near St John’s Village. It is a good location for visible migrants, especially in Spring, when they focus down before heading off north. Ring Ouzel, Wheatear, Whinchat, various finches and wagtails are among the many possible species. It is also a good area for raptors with Buzzards and Marsh Harriers breeding close by.  400 metres west along the cliff path is the location of a large aviary from where Red-billed Choughs were released by the Jersey Zoo ( Durrell), as a very successful re-introduction scheme and many of these may still be seen in the area

Getting There

At St John’s Village take La Route du Nord, next to the Church and follow it along the north coast west to Sorel Point where you can park and walk west on the coastal walking trail
