Interesting to note your report of a Gt White Egret yesterday (04 Oct 2015)over St Ouen's Bay area. I saw one at Portelet Bay on the previous day, fishing at the low water mark and advised a couple of bird-watchers at the Wetland Centre about it. It remained fishing for 20-30 mins before being disturbed by a shore-line walker. It then flew southwards. Delighted to see my first such rarity !

This is my 3rd visit to Jersey but always working and this time without my binoculars. Great website and I congratulate you on the gallery. Mr Dryden's photographs are outstanding.
Please visit Pembrokeshire during migration and the islands in late spring for a different bonanza!

Many thanks for your time today. Sadly my search for the long eared owl came to nought but appreciate the great photo you made. See you next year.

Wonderful surprise when walking along the sea wall from St Aubins this morning. Approx 15 Turnstones, 20 Redshank by the sea wall at high tide. Over 100 Brent Geese very close swimming on the bay. Wish I'd had a camera along!

Since the second week in September, a large bird of approximately 3 feet in height resembling a Heron or Crane has been landing on our garden wall and attempting to feed on the fish in our next door neighbour's pond. Can you tell me if Samares Manor keeps birds like this one? Our garden backs on to Samares Manor land.

I have visited Jersey 3 times now but had never been to Noirmont until Thursday last week (4th Sept 2014) - I had definitely been missing out! I just wanted to say thank you for sharing your knowledge and pointing out various birds as I am only a beginner and can feel a bit out of my depth at times! I am especially grateful for being shown the Wryneck on the ground - what a beautiful bird; a memory I will truly treasure :-) so thank you very much!

I love birds of prey. I have no idea what I saw the other day sitting in a field as I drove past. Large bird of prey, head and neck predominantly light colour with brown spots. Feathers darker lower down. Would love to have taken photo or stopped just for better look but he flew away when I slowed down!

There was a raft of about 40 Balearic Shearwaters on the sea about 1/2 mile South of the Icho Tower off the South Coast at noon on 21 August 2014.

Whilst leaving Waitrose at Vallee Des Vaux yesterday evening (Sat 16 Aug 14) I heard two seagulls going crazy. A short time later, what appeared to be a grey heron (possibly without any white on its neck) flew out of a tree in the supermarket car park, pursued by one of the gulls who briefly attacked it. The heron was last seen flying north up Vallee des Vaux, hopefully to a quieter and safer spot. So that's another sighting for you!
