Just found this site and enjoying the reports. My family moved to Trinity from St Clement earlier this year and have been delighted to find that we are now able to regularly see some wonderful birds of prey here - just behind Durrell Wildlife , including pairs of Kestrels and Barn Owls and I feel we are particularly lucky to have a pair of BUZZARDS nearby who raised a youngster this past summer. It was incredible to watch all three fly over the valley below us. I hope to capture some of these amazing birds on camera with the longer lens I now have!
Despite the pleasure at watching the predators, I am concerned about one thing, the scarcity of Thrushes. We do have a Song Thrush who visits, but is it my imagination, or have Thrushes become far less common?
Great site you have here, will be checking back again!
best wishes,
~Cate

Hi
I have been looking at this site for several weeks now due to a wedding I was attending (25/10). I managed to get to the hide at St Ouens (without Binos due to weight issues.) Does anyone know what the big white Swan like bird there is. Maybe a goose of some kind but not sure.

I can also thank Brenda for pointing me to this lovely site, and all because I read the JEP on line every day! Am looking forward to learning about all the birds that I barely took much notice of 35 years ago. Hoping to be back early next year.
So miss Jersey!!! Kate

I was just wondering whether a sighting of the yellow golden pheasant was common in Jersey? They are quite a site in the country lanes!

Fabulous site - I read the latest news on a daily basis to see which birds I've failed to spot, AGAIN. Many thanks and keep up the good work.
