Was just reading in the JEP about the sightings of the Bird of Prey.
I have been living on teh island for over 2 years now and on a walk on Sunday afternoon myself and my wife saw a huge bird flying low over the sea between Bonne Niut and bouley bays on the North of the Island. I tried to get my camera on it but was out of sight too quickly.
The time must have been around 4.30pm It was heading towards Bonne Nuit Bay.
being from Scotland i didnt realise that this was unusual!! Im used to seeing all types of birds of Prey.
I am going to the same place tonight so will take a cam corder see if i can get anything!!

Have just found the site and we love to read what is occuring birdwise in Jersey.
We are visiting in May and look forward to seeing all the birds while there.

Hi, Reported the Ring Ousel in the bird log at the pond last week.
Forgot to mention good lengthy views of a Merlin at 1430-1500hrs Wed 9th April at Le Beau Vallet near the pinacle. Only moved off when disturbed by a dog.

Queens Valley Reservoir seems to have some visitors in the form of about 6 "shags" that have been seen over the last few weeks high in the trees on left side of reservoir , is this unusual ? I have walked the reservoir for years but this is first time I have spotted them.
